Art Anyway Foundation

Born to Create

Every person is innately an artist. Many of us simply have not discovered it yet.

The Idea

Creativity is not
a spectator sport.

Art Anyway Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Los Angeles. We exist to make creative practice accessible to everyone, and to bring working artists into direct collaboration with the public.

We are living through a loneliness epidemic. The tools that were supposed to connect us have left too many people feeling more alone, more purposeless, and further from themselves. Our answer is old and simple. People making things, together, in the same room.

When people create side by side, the wall between artist and audience dissolves. That is the whole idea. Everything we do is built on it.

The Flagship

The Art Crucible

A torn dictionary page defining crucible: a container in which materials are melted at high heat; a situation in which concentrated forces interact to cause change.

A crucible is a vessel where materials meet under heat and become something new. The name is deliberate.

An Art Crucible is a communal creative gathering. Working artists and the public share one room, and multiple art forms happen at the same time. Some artists paint, some dance, some sing, some write, some play. They are there to guide, less like teachers and more like mentors.

You do not need talent, training, or a plan. You need to show up. The point is for everyone to leave having made something.

Come to make, not to watch.

Founder

Art Anyway Foundation was founded in Los Angeles by Marco Palou, an Argentine artist working across music, film, visual art, and writing. He has spent two decades building a creative practice that lives across disciplines and communities. The Foundation is that practice, opened to everyone.

Inspired by the book HOMO ARTIS by Marco Palou.
